Santos Fabrication has hiring guidelines that promote a consistent level of personal responsibility from our employees which we call our "Standards of Character".

Standards of Character guidelines are as follows:

• Valid California Drivers License (some allowances may apply)
• Clean driving record for supervisory and delivery positions
• Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test
• Must not have a felony or grave misdemeanor

To help our employees succeed at Santos Fabrication, we look at the following factors to help determine a candidate's suitability for the position they are applying:

• Job experience and how closely it fits with the services we provide
• Job stability - length of previous employment
• Skills testing - various welding, blueprint, and math testing
• References - employment and personal
• Education
• High School Diploma or equivalent is a minimum requirement
• Jr. College Vocational Education recommended
• Trade School Education Helpful

As in most skilled trades, personal hand tools are a requirement for all Journeyman level positions, which include Millwrights, Fabricators, and Welders. Apprentice positions, which include welder's helper and Millwright's helper, as well as, machine operators, are encouraged to acquire hand tools as their apprenticeship progresses to allow for advancement. Your tool box inventory is a direct reflection of your skill level and experience in your trade. It is also a measure of the consistency and quality you can apply to your work.
